The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is a Medicare funded program that allows for up to $1000 of dental treatment over a 2 year period for 2–17 year olds if the family is receiving Family Assistance Tax Benefit A. This children’s dental scheme provides individual child dental benefits for a range of services, including examinations, x-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals and extractions. Is My Child Eligible for the Children’s Dental Scheme?
If your child is eligible for the child dental benefits scheme, you will automatically receive a letter informing you of this. There is no need to register or apply for the CDBS. Children must be eligible for Medicare, be aged between 2 and 17 years, and receive an eligible payment at least once a year.
